Salahadine Djouma Abdallah was born in the small village of Ajabana in western Darfur. At the age of 7, he fled his homeland in 2003 due to the war and sought refuge in Chad, where he grew up in a refugee camp. After facing numerous challenges in Chad, he moved to Libya in 2021. Just three months after his arrival in Tripoli, he joined a movement to defend his rights following the Gargaresh raid. He peacefully protested for 100 days in front of the UNHCR office, seeking recognition and safety, but was arrested on January 10, 2022, and spent 18 months in Ain Zara detention center. He was finally released in July 2023. Shortly after his release, he risked his life again to cross the sea and reached Europe. Now, he is based in France, continuing his fight for refugee rights.
